Musical Trails: A Narrative Web Site of Music in Hickman County
The Hickman County Library is proud to present Musical Trails, capturing the role Music has had in Hickman County, Tennessee. We offer an experience in video, photography, and audio as a collection of
memories from folk who made Music their lives.

The site is based on research generated by the library staff while producing their annual live show, Hickman Heritage Music Fest. The family connections of Mary Beth Pruett, the library director, give the site a personal touch with the contribution of information and family photos. Clay Harris, the theatre director, and writer defines the narrative and the poetic voice. Clarissa Lega, from Artistree, Inc., brings together a team of visual artists and web designers which include Asha Fuller, a native of Centerville, with photography, and Casey Culver with video production, both professionals working in NYC. Fuller and Culver conducted and edited the video interviews scattered throughout the site, each of them a work of hundreds of hours of detailed work. Manuel Lagos Jr., emerging talent from Hohenwald, TN contributes additional video production. Felipe Reyes from Muvii, a company dedicated to innovative and interactive web design, provides world-class coding and design capabilities.
The site is made possible through funding from the TN Arts Commission. Additional funders include Buffalo-Duck River, Resource Conservation and Development, the TN Department of Tourism, Grinders Switch Foundation, and generous community members.
The library is very grateful to each and everyone connected with the site. It appeared online the week of January 26, 2015, and launched a second time on December 15, 2020.
